Michael Martin

Michael Martin is a Tenor from Cooper City who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College. Since he graduated in 2021, Michael has gained experience in performing and teaching at various churches and schools, as well as in groups such as the VOCES8 Foundation and the LOTUS Project. He has also been teaching private music lessons since 2020.

Michael greatly values versatility and variety in music making, and has devoted himself to learning to sing and play all kinds of music, from Bach to Bobby McFerrin. For this reason, he encourages students to exit their comfort zones and experiment with different styles so that they may grow as a musician and as a person. Most importantly, however, Michael believes that any musician should perform the music they love, and love the music they perform.

“The voice gets to the soul of a person more than any other instrument. Because it’s the voice. It sings talks, it cries, it laughs, it squeals, it barks, it shouts, it whispers. There is no other instrument that can do that. We’re born with it.”

-Bobby McFerrin
