Cornerstone Music Studios is proud to host ROCK.Out.Loud, a FUN and unique musical program for Special Needs youth. At ROCK.Out.Loud we re-create the experience of playing in a professional rock band with real rock instruments to foster self-expression and social skills. The program is directed by ABA-Certified Paraprofessional and multi-instrument musician, Sean Yocum. Through guided hands-on experience with keyboards, drums, electric guitars, electric bass, and microphones, ROCK.Out.Loud participants practice rhythm, identifying song components, movement, and creating stage presence. Communication and positive peer interactions are emphasized and rewarded in a program that is flexible and supportive enough to accommodate the individuality of each child. Participants range in musical experience and age, from 8 to 29 years of age, and the program explores musical genres from oldies favorites and classic rock to modern pop. Rock Out Loud staff members are rock musicians, special educators, and passionate volunteers with musical backgrounds.
